1. Which is more fun, kid's toys or grown-up kid's toys? (ie. Lego's vs. power tools)Hmmmmmm, depends on my mood. At the moment I am enjoying my scrapbooking tools. (would they be grown-up or kids?)LOL!
2. What's your favorite food and why? Which food is your number one weakness?I have developed a huge fondness for Mexican food. However, as far as a weakness food, that would have to be chocolate.
3. How many blogs/journals/diaries would you say you read?Well, I don't read near as many as I should. I end up reading about 2-3, and not even regularly. Just don't seem to have enough time...
4. Do you feel you have an obligation to spread your religious belief system to others, or do you think religion is a private matter that everyone needs to decide for themselves?Private. I don't hide my beliefs, but don't feel it is necessary to push it on someone else.
5. Did you keep a paper journal before blogging? No. Although I do have a childhood "diary." I bought a paper journal about a year ago and occasionally write in it, but I'm not disciplined enough to keep it up.
6. Describe your life in 3 words.Isolation, busy, content.
7. What was the last thing you were wrong about?Boy, this is hard! I measured wrong when I was making a card. This probably isn't exactly the kind of thing the question refers to, but I just can't think....
8. What one thing would you do to help the world be a better place for all?I try to be the best person I can be. If I had the power to do anything, I would change laws so people are more accountable for their actions, and get very tough on frivolous lawsuits.(I guess that's two things.)

10. If you could start your own meme (And you can!), what kind of questions would you ask? I'm a totally uncreative (boring)person, and have no idea.
DH and I returned from visiting Hurricane Charley in Florida. We had quite a nice visit for the most part. Lots of rain, most of the week. It was very nice to see DH's Goddaughter after 15 yrs. She is 15 1/2... kind of gives you an idea of how often we visit down there. LOL!
We were able to visit a few restaurants, including, Red Lobster, Steak N Shake, and a cute little local pizza shop. Despite all of that, I was able to stick to my diet plan, and even came home with a small weight loss.
School was closed, across the area on Friday, but opened back up on Monday. So... DH and I went to Universal Studios in Orlando on Monday. We had a marvelous time, riding rides and buying souvenirs. At the end of the day, we got on the freeway for the 30 minute drive to our friend's house, and after about 15 minutes, realized we were going the wrong direction. Darn! We had also noticed the traffic going the other way was very backed up and we really didn't want to be stuck in it. So we got out the map and figured out a more "scenic" route, figuring it would take a good hour to make it back to the house. I'm glad in a way that we went that way, because we saw, close-up, some of the devestation wrought by Hurricane Charley. Not that we were happy people were having to go through that, but it sure helps to make us think about how blessed we were. Seeing a few trees down (my experience with hurricane damage up till this,) certainly doesn't have the same impact as seeing beautiful homes and neighborhoods virtually demolished by trees and other debris flying through the air during the height of the storm. We thank God that we were staying on the east coast of the state and had only to help our friends pick up tree limbs in their yard, following the storm.
Some of you may be aware that I have a Grand-dog named Baxter. He is a boxer mix and very cute, albeit big and strong! Well, our daughter and her husband recently drove out to CA to her first Air Force duty station. After arriving, they had to put their two pooches, Baxter and Bear (female pomeranian,) in a kennel until they were able to sign for their rental house. They relied on the assistance of one of her co-workers to provide info about a kennel in the area. Anyway, they dropped the dogs off on a Saturday, and were able to pick them up on Monday. Baxter was in obvious "tail pain" when he slunk out of the "lockup." He was yelping and it was very sad. Daughter and hubby were very upset and told kennel owner something was wrong. Initially he tried to pretend he knew nothing, then when S-I-L said they were taking Baxter to a vet, the man immediately said he would pay for whatever was wrong. (a bit suspicious, wouldn't you say?) Well after xrays, it was determined that poor Baxter probably has a fractured tail! Still don't know how it happened, but the break is up close to his body. They won't be taking the dogs back to that place! Today, a week later, I spoke to my daughter and Baxter is doing much better...wags his tail again and it looks like it is healing well. I'm so glad... Poor Baxter...

DH and I are going to Florida in two days. On Wednesday morning, we will drive the five hours down to Phoenix. I have a hair appointment down there for a trim and blond highlights, at noon. I hope to also get a pedicure. We will putz around town all day and find a hotel near the airport, for the night. Our flight leaves Phoenix at 7:00am Thursday morning. We'll arrive in Orlando at 3:50pm, then drive about an hour to a friend's home, where we will be staying for four nights. I know we will have a good time, even if it continues to rain... (yes, they've been having a lot of rain lately.)
I recently started on the South Beach Diet (11 lbs gone) and I think it should be pretty easy to stay on it during our vacation. If I can stay away from starchy sweets and ice cream, I'll be fine. Have a great week everyone!
1. Whtat's "it" all about, anyway? Hmmmm, IT... Life is made meaningful by helping to make the world a more bearable place for mankind.
2. What radical political ideas do you have, if any? I don't have any radical ideas. I'm basically a conservative moderate, at least I think that's what I would be called. I generally do not discuss politics ever... because I don't like to argue and debate and a lot of people I know do not have the same opinions that I do.
3. Do you believe that you 'fit' the profile of your astrological star sign? Probably not. I don't usually check out my horoscope or anything like that, but I am Gemini, the Twins. I believe this denotes a split personality of sorts, but I am a mostly even minded/tempered person.
4. Will blogging survive 2005 or is it a fad? I think blogging will always be around in some form. It already has been around for many years, but it's only fairly recently become popular.
5. Do you Ebay? If so, what and how often? Is it a full-time job, part-time hobby, or just to clear the junk from your house? I do occasionally buy stuff on Ebay. However, I am getting ready to place some things for auction (after we return from vacation.) My DH auctions on Ebay very regularly and will be helping me get started.
6. True or False: When I vote, I am all for one party. False, I try to vote for the person whom I feel will be able to help our country/community the most. "All for one party" people frustrate me, which is why I don't discuss politics. I feel like they don't have an open mind at all and therefore probably can't make an informed decision.
7. Meat or veggie sauce on your spaghetti? Veggie if it's out of a jar, I prefer meat sauce if it's homemade.
8. Would you ever be on a TV Reality Show? My life is much too boring! I suppose if the right one came along, I'd consider it.
9. What is one thing (or place) that you would like to do (or see) that you have not yet done (or seen?) Take a cruise to Alaska.
10. Do you answer memes honestly? Absolutely!
Just a couple of months ago, I was sitting here typing similar news. In May, our son called off his wedding, which was scheduled for next Saturday. The wedding is still off and they both seem to be getting on with their lives. He's got his first "real" job and she is getting ready to start Grad School.
Now... the similar news. Our daughter, a recent grad of A.F. Tech School, married last September, with the intention of having a "formal" wedding and reception on their first anniversary this year. That is coming up in about two months, and it has also been called off! True, they are really married and just getting settled in new surroundings at her first military duty station... but, things have been very difficult emotionally, so for that reasons, as well as financial reasons, the formal event is off.
And now for this week's questions.......True or False:
1. I always exercise my right to vote. (If you are under 18, 'I will always exercise my right to vote as soon as I am old enough to.')
true
2. I pay little or no attention to the campaign ads aired on television prior to a presidential election.
true, they generally annoy me
3. I can see myself running for some type of political office someday.
false!
4. I believe we will see a woman become president in my lifetime.
Boy, I sure hope not! Realistically, we probably will.
5. I try to keep an open mind regarding all political issues.
true
6. I believe the drinking age should be raised.
false
7. I think the legal age to vote should be raised.
false
8. I thought these qustions were interesting.
true
9. I will be back to play again!
true
